My experience as a guitar maker started when I was 17 years old. Combining woodworking skills and being a keen musician I naturally began repairs on guitars as well as other musical instruments. These early years of repairs and woodworking set up the foundations to begin classical guitar making. I spent these early years researching sound production and gaining valuable knowledge of a variety of acoustic instruments.
In the beginning, I was inspired by many traditional guitar makers and made guitars in a traditional way based on the designs of Antonio De Torres. I realised to innovate the instrument I would have to use modern materials and a blend of old and modern methods to create the best sound.
My achievement is to produce the very best possible sound with each instrument, to make a guitar that is easy to play and creates no obstacles between the musician and the music. To create a guitar where the strings feel alive when played and the guitar feels like it is almost playing itself.
